How to choose the best acting institute in Lucknow
Every advert says "best acting institute". The real difference shows in these things, which you should check yourself before taking admission.
1. How often does the camera roll in class?
Acting for film and web series is acting for the camera, not the stage. If you are not recorded every week and corrected while watching yourself, you are learning theory, not screen acting. Ask how often each student gets in front of the camera.
2. What do the teachers actually do?
Search the teachers on IMDb or YouTube. People who direct, edit or shoot films can tell you what a set really needs. "20 years of experience" written on a poster is not enough; the work should be visible.
3. Will you work on a real set?
A classroom and a set are very different: lights, many takes, continuity, noise and time pressure. A good course puts you on a real production so you leave with a showreel, not just a certificate.
4. What is the method?
Ask how acting is taught. At Indian Films Academy it is Yogesh Mishrra's method, Yogesh CineAct, and real classes are on YouTube. An institute whose classes you can watch first is easier to trust.
5. Are fees and duration written down?
Ask for the fee, instalments, refund rules and duration in writing. Institutes that don't publish fees are more likely to add "extra charges" later.
6. Beware of a "guaranteed role"
No honest institute can guarantee a film role, because casting directors and producers decide roles. Opportunities, yes; guarantees, no. Stay away from anyone who takes money to promise a role.
7. Training for digital platforms
Many artists today build their name on YouTube and Instagram. Check whether the course teaches shooting on a phone, editing and running your own channel.
