Yogesh Mishrra's acting method
Yogesh CineActActors Transformation System
We don't turn you into someone else. We turn the person you already are into an actor.
Most acting training pours the actor into a mould: walk like this star, talk like that one. Yogesh CineAct starts from the other end. In his first class Yogesh Mishrra tells students: your body, your voice, your face, you are not here to change them, you are here to make them shine. That is your weapon and your shield.
That is why it is called the Actors Transformation System. The change is not imposed from outside; it comes from within. The way you, as you are, observe, feel and express is clarified until you are truthful in front of the camera.
And it does not stop at acting. The habit of close observation, command over emotion, a clear voice, discipline and respect for your own work stay with a student for life. Here you learn acting, and you learn yourself.
In Yogesh Mishrra's words
Observation is common, but transformation is rare. An actor is defined by that transformation. If you want to become an actor, behave like an actor and feel like an actor. The core ideas
The actor is a re-creator
God creates; the actor re-creates that creation, whether it is Mahatma Gandhi or an invented character. So the first lesson here is respect: for the work, and for yourself.
Three steps
Observation, Emotion, Expression. First see, then feel, then carry it to the audience with body, face and voice. Acting lives between these three.
Four pillars
Believing, Respect, Seriousness, Enjoying: belief in the character, respect for the art, seriousness in the work and joy in doing it.
Learning by doing
Acting only comes by doing it. No teacher can do it for you, so in every class the student is in front of the camera.
Only an actor
"I also want to be an actor" and "I only want to be an actor" differ by one word. All the preparation begins with that decision.
From joke to reality
In Yogesh Mishrra's words, acting is the journey from a joke to reality. When people laugh at your dream, the journey has begun.
