Cinematic Acting Course and Classes in Gomti Nagar, Lucknow
Acting for the camera, not the stage: where a blink, a breath and a pause all show.
- 90 days
- Gomti Nagar, Lucknow
- ₹50,000
What this course teaches that most courses don't
The Self-Linking technique
Linking a character's emotion to something inside you, so tears and laughter never look borrowed.
Don't Do, Let It Happen
Letting an emotion happen instead of performing it. The camera catches forced emotion at once.
Camera language
How a performance scales across close, mid and wide shots; eyelines, marks and the camera look.
Switch On, Switch Off
Going into a character and out of it in a moment, between takes.
Multicam and continuity
Acting in front of four or five cameras at once, and matching every take so the editor can cut.
Dubbing
Re-recording your own voice in sync with your lips on screen.
If you want to become an actor, behave like an actor and feel like an actor. The 90-day curriculum
Month 1Shared by all three courses
Shared foundation: in front of the camera
Every film craft is expression. An actor expresses with body and voice, a director draws it out of others, and an editor shapes it for the audience. So in the first month students of all three courses learn the camera together, through an actor's eyes.
- Observation, Emotion, Expression: the three steps of acting
- The four pillars of Yogesh CineAct: Believing, Respect, Seriousness, Enjoying
- The Observation System: Live, Imaginary, Micro, Nano and Combination Observation
- Foundations of the Natyashastra, the nine rasas and sattvika bhava
- Body, breath, voice and diction
- Camera look and camera language: scaling a performance to the shot size
- Improvisation: building scenes without a script
- Shooting on a phone and starting your own channel
Month 2Only in this course
Depth in your course
From the second month the three courses separate. Each student trains in detail, and technically, in the course they joined.
- Observation System
- Live, Imaginary, Micro, Nano and Combination Observation: turning what you see into performance.
- The Emotion chapter
- The Emotional Flow Engine, Fake Emotion and Force of Emotions: where emotion comes from, how to raise and lower it, and how to move from one to the next.
- Magic If and Self-Linking
- "What if I were in this situation?", and linking the character to your own experience.
- Feel and React
- Truly listening and reacting; Action and Reaction, and improvisation without a script.
- Sattvika abhinaya
- The sattvika bhavas of the Natyashastra: tears, trembling, a breaking voice, emotions that rise from within.
- Voice
- Breathing exercises, diction and speech, a soft tone, microphone technique and dubbing.
- Body
- Action with Weight (weight in hand movement), and the basics of dance and action for the screen.
- Character
- Script breakdown, character adaptation, villains and comic roles, and monologue recreation of well-known film scenes.
- On camera
- Camera look, eyelines, marks, shot sizes, continuity and multicam acting.
- Auditions and profile
- Self-tapes, how casting works, a portfolio photoshoot and a showreel.
Month 3Only in this course
On a real set
The third month belongs to the set, not the classroom. Every student works on real PICHCHRAPA shoots and leaves with a portfolio.
- Acting on camera in PICHCHRAPA web series (such as Gapistaan) and digital productions
- A showreel and profile built from real shoots
- Regular character-led videos on your own channel
With every course
Special for YouTube and Instagram: make your own channel
Many artists today don't wait for a film; they build their own stage. So every student, in all three courses, launches and runs a channel within the 90 days.
Acting for YouTube and Instagram
Being natural in front of a phone camera, speaking and playing characters.
Your channel's identity
Deciding the character, subject or show you'll bring.
Shooting on a phone
Light, sound and framing: clean video without expensive gear.
The first three seconds
Hooks, titles and thumbnails: the craft of making a viewer stop.
Reels, Shorts and long videos
Story and editing for both formats.
Consistency and analytics
A publishing calendar, and learning from the numbers.
A case in point: every actor in the comedy series Gapistaan (Gen Gap) trained at this academy, and the series is shot using the same method.
